Falleci\u00f3 la ma\u00f1ana de este viernes a los 98 a\u00f1os, el merenguero dominicano Jose\u00edto Mateo, quien se encontraba hospitalizado por complicaciones de salud.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed lo confirm\u00f3 el director del Hospital Nacional de las Fuerzas Armadas, Agustin Ruben Iglesias Melo a Diario Libre, quien a\u00f1adi\u00f3 que el deceso del artista se produjo a las 11:45 de la ma\u00f1ana. Fue diagnosticado de leucemia.<\/p>\n<p>El legendario artista, ha sido reconocido en el pa\u00eds con m\u00faltiples premios, incluido el Gran Soberano que en 2004 le entreg\u00f3 la Asociaci\u00f3n de Cronistas de Arte y el Premio a la Excelencia del Grammy Latino en 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Su talento lo llev\u00f3 a Cuba en donde cant\u00f3 junto a Celia Cruz, entre otros artistas. Posteriormente viaj\u00f3 a Puerto Rico para formar parte de la legendaria banda El Gran Combo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANTO DOMINGO.
